Custom polyimide film
Polyimide generally has a decomposition temperature exceeding 500°C, making it one of the most thermally stable organic polymers known, due to its high content of aromatic rings.
It also possesses excellent mechanical properties, with tensile strengths above 100MPa for unreinforced materials, reaching up to 170MPa for Kapton thin film and 400MPa for phenyl-type polyimide. Additionally, it exhibits good chemical stability and resistance to humidity, heat, and corrosion, with certain varieties able to withstand boiling water at 120°C and 2 atmospheric pressures for 500 hours.
Furthermore, polyimide demonstrates exceptional radiation resistance, maintaining 86% of its strength after exposure to a dose of 5x10^9 rad and 90% of its strength after exposure to a dose of 1x10^10 rad of fast electron radiation.
